A 16-year-old boy in South Dakota was charged with possessing and creating child sex abuse materials.
The teen’s adoptive father reported him to police, claiming he had sent child pornography to his younger brother, who also lived in the home. An investigation uncovered that the teen had hundreds of sexually-explicit videos and photos of children — including images he created of a 6-year-old girl that he was sharing via email, according to KVLY.
In addition to searching online about grooming, the teen reportedly had 15 videos about how to groom girls to perform sex acts without getting caught. He allegedly also described himself in messages as a “pedophile.”
“I’m sorry that I like small. Like really small,” he allegedly wrote. “If not her it’s gonna end up being a different girl.”
KVLY reported that the teen was also a member of several Facebook groups regarding babysitter jobs. He allegedly sent a message on Facebook in which he sought to babysit children between the ages of 4 and 8 in Mandan.
“I prefer girls, but I also babysit boys,” he wrote, according to KVLY.
Officials said the teen boy has little to no understanding of the issues with his behavior — and he has barely shown remorse for his actions.
The 16-year-old boy is charged with promoting or directing an obscene sexual performance by a minor, possession of certain prohibited materials, and sexual assault. He has not been publicly identified, presumably due to his age.
KVLY reported that his bond was set at $50 as he awaits an October 22 trial date.
