Police believe a suspected member of a bikie gang was the target when his home was sprayed with bullets in Sydney’s Inner West overnight.
Raymond Frangieh, 45, wasn’t inside his home on Davidson Avenue in Concord when at least eight shots were fired about 1.10am.
“The occupants of the home are known to police,” Detective Acting Superintendent Luke Scott said.
In 2003, Frangieh’s father was shot dead outside their Merrylands home and police believe his son was also the target that time.
Frangieh, who has a history of drug convictions and is a suspected member of the Hells Angels bikie gang, is being investigated.
“Anybody who thinks the way to settle a conflict is by shooting at someone’s house … it’s complete and utter stupidity,” Scott said.
There was nobody home at the time of the shooting and no reports of injuries.
A short time after the shooting, emergency services were called to Stuart Street in Burwood to find a car on fire.
Police said the torched SUV was used as a getaway car.
The blaze was extinguished but the car was destroyed.
