Domestic and international travel plans have been thrown into disarray, while commuters have been urged to avoid non-essential travel.

At least 87 flights, both arrivals and departures, have been cancelled at Sydney Airport, according to Flight Radar, and more could take place as heavy rain and dangerous winds continue today.

Transport for NSW has said multiple train services have also been cancelled due to the dangers of the weather, including trees coming down on the tracks.

“Train passengers should avoid non-essential travel across the rail network after wild weather disrupted services and caused damage to infrastructure,” Transport said in a post.
