Police have found human remains in the search for Joshua Bishop, a Victorian man who has been missing for a month.
A 27-year-old man was arrested today after a search warrant was carried out at a home on Erinbank Crescent in Westmeadows, in north-west Melbourne, today.
A crime scene was established and police from the major crime scene unit will attempt to process the scene.
The remains have not been formally identified.
Victoria Police said in a statement the 27-year-old is expected to be questioned by detectives.
Bishop was last seen in Lalor Crescent in Sunbury at about 9.30pm on Tuesday, May 27, by his housemate.
The 23-year-old was reported missing by his mother on Thursday, May 29.
“Josh was really open with me, we had a really good relationship,” Bishop’s mother Kristie said.
“This is not something he would do unless he felt he had to.”
Bishop’s father Travis said his son was “loved by everyone” and doesn’t believe he would have any enemies.
“Someone has to know something,” he said.
“We’ve had a lot of support, but we still haven’t got any closer to our son, which is hard.”
