An arsonist who set a popular restaurant alight two nights in a row is on the run from police.
NSW Police on Thursday released footage of the man using fireworks to set fire to Eat Fuh on Tuohy Lane, off Illawarra Road near Marrickville Station in Sydney’s inner-west, last month.
One video shows a hooded man lighting a fire in the courtyard of the restaurant on the night of May 29.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the small fire within minutes.
Another man waited nearby in a Kia sedan and the pair drove from the scene.
Arson Unit detectives found the man attacked the same restaurant, this time with fireworks, the following night.
‘Just before 1am on May 30, emergency services were called to Tuohy Lane following reports of a fire in the courtyard of a restaurant,’ NSW Police said.
‘Initial inquiries revealed accelerant and an explosive device – most likely a firework – was used to light the fire at the restaurant.’

Police are searching for a man of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance and medium build (pictured) who could assist with its investigation
Footage from the second firebombing showed the man pouring a liquid from a jerry can and setting it alight before throwing a firework into the flames.
The colourful firework exploded as the arsonist drove from the scene.
It’s believed he visited the restaurant alone on the second night.
Fortunately, the damage to Eat Fuh was minimal due to the quick response from emergency services on both occasions.
The man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 185cm tall, and of medium build.
He has black, curly, shoulder length hair, and wears glasses.
The man was also seen driving a grey Toyota Hilux at a service station near another arson attack last year.
The target was a tobacconist in Ettalong Beach, 93km north of Sydney’s CBD, in August 2024.
