A royal biographer is convinced the Duchess of Sussex never wanted Prince Harry to meet her father for one of three reasons.

Meghan Markle shared a post via Instagram on Father’s Day showing sweet clips and photos of Prince Harry with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. She did not share anything honoring her own father, which no one expected since they have been estranged for years.

But Meghan’s relationship with her dad, Thomas Markle, has long been a mystery.

Her parents divorced when she was a child but Thomas always remained a presence in her life. She even caught the showbiz bug while visiting him on the set of Married With Children, as he was the show’s lighting director for years. Thomas also reportedly paid for Meghan’s private school tuition and helped foot the bill for college. When she decided to embark on an acting career, Thomas reportedly used his pull to help get his daughter a small part on General Hospital when he was the lighting director on the soap.

A health issue kept Thomas from attending the Sussexes’ royal wedding in 2018, there were plenty of opportunities though before and after that for Meghan to introduce her father and her husband but she never did. Now, a royal author thinks they know why and it comes down to one of three reasons.

Biographer insists these are the reasons why Meghan didn’t introduce her dad and Prince Harry

Royal biographer Hugo Vickers, who has written dozens of books on the royal family, gave his take on why he believes Meghan never wanted her father and the prince to meet.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show Hugo Vickers opined that it’s one of three reasons: “One that she was ashamed of him, which I think is a bit unattractive. Two, possibly that she thought he’d done something, but when Prince Harry rang Mr. Markle up and asked if he could marry his daughter, he said ‘You can marry her as long as you never raise your hand against her.’

“The third reason is that I think she was worried that he might actually have warned Prince Harry — this is not what you’re getting, this girl.”

The royal author continued: “Mr. Markle should have been at the wedding and they should have flown him over and stuck him in a health farm in the Shetlands or somewhere. Prince Harry should have gone up to see him and if he couldn’t have walked the aisle, he should have been sitting there because he did a lot for that girl and she even admitted it in the early days before she distanced herself from him.”

Thomas Markle had a message for Meghan’s children before he moved to the Philippines

Thomas has since relocated to the Philippines. Just before he moved abroad a few months back, he said that he accepts he may never see Meghan again or ever meet his son-in-law and grandchildren but he insisted that his door “is always open.”

“I don’t like some of the things my daughter has done but I will always love her. My door is always open to her. I love her and that will never change,” he told the Daily Mail.

Thomas also had a message for Archie and Lilibet saying that his “dream” was to one day bring his “whole family together.”
