How Will the Conservative Movement Respond to Israel’s Attacks on Iran?

Ho hum, nothing to see here from Biden’s border crisis — just potential terrorists released by Alejandro Mayorkas …

In the wake of the strikes on Iran’s nuclear-development facilities, Iranian leaders threatened to have ‘sleeper’ agents commit terrorist acts inside the US in retaliation. The Department of Homeland took that threat more seriously than Joe Biden did, apparently. Within 48 hours, Immigration and Customs Enforcement had detained 11 illegal aliens from Iran, including one former member of the IRGC with Hezbollah connections:

In its latest crackdown against illegal immigration, federal agents arrested 11 Iranian foreign nationals in 48 hours, including one watchlisted individual — part of a series of targeted operations spanning eight states and nine cities nationwide.

Among those arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement since Sunday, June 22, is Mehran Makari Saheli, at his home near St. Paul, Minnesota. ICE officials say Saheli is a former member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an elite branch of Iran’s armed forces. They said the detainee has “admitted connections to Hezbollah,” a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization backed by Iran.

ICE said that five of those arrested possessed previous criminal convictions ranging from grand larceny to drug and firearm possessions.

So … ICE got them all, huh? Not even close. A report yesterday noted that the Biden administration detained over 1500 Iranian nationals who crossed the southern border illegally. Almost half – well over 700 — got subsequently released into the US, despite their affiliation with a country whose regime makes “Death to America” both a slogan and a policy.

Note too the ominous progression of the data:

More specifically, Border Patrol agents arrested 1,504 Iranian nationals from fiscal year 2021 through fiscal year 2024. Of the 1,504 individuals who were arrested, 729 were released into the U.S.

The number of Iranian nationals arrested at the southern border increased year-to-year, with 48 being arrested in FY21; 197 in FY22; 462 in FY23 and 797 in FY24.

Likewise, the number of Iranian nationals released also increased, with 12 in FY21; 40 in FY22; 229 in FY23; and 448 in FY24.

Of the 729 illegal Iranian aliens released, 677 of those got released while Iran’s proxies waged war on Israel, with Iranian support. That does not seem like a coincidence at all, even if one was inclined to believe in coincidences generally. Why did the flood of illegal crossings by Iranian nationals increase year-on-year by 300% in FY22, and then by 135% in FY23, and then by 73% in FY24? Better yet, why didn’t Mayorkas ask that question, or whoever was running the Biden Regency in those years?

And why would DHS have released Iranian nationals at all? Their country has openly declared itself to be at war with the US, with frequent enough actions to believe it. The Iranians have no claims to Reconquista or to oppression by tinpot socialist despots in South America. Illegal aliens from openly hostile regimes should get expelled immediately, or asked to wait outside the US if they claim asylum and those claims are vetted.

Instead, Biden and Mayorkas couldn’t have cared less about American national security. Lord knows how many potential terrorists got allowed into this country as a result of their open-borders fetish, and not just from Iran, either.

Some may point to a lack of attacks over the last few days as evidence that no danger existed. First, I’d point out that the danger isn’t over yet; the cease-fire could collapse and hostilities restart, including between Iran and the US. Second, the warning from Trump about severe escalation in case of terror attacks likely forced the Iranian regime to back down, as seen in their lame, staged missile attack on Qatar and quick agreement to a cease-fire shortly afterward.

The risk is far from over, and so are the Iranian regime’s plans to push for “Death to America” as soon as they feel safe to put them back in action. Eleven arrests in 48 hours are a good start, but we need to account for all of these illegal-alien Iranians and start their deportation proceedings forthwith.
