A Colorado man was arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap an 8-year-old girl from a grocery store in the presence of her grandmother — twice.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced in a Facebook post that Bradley Mikel Wilson, 34, was arrested on Saturday after several witnesses allegedly saw him attempt to take an 8-year-old girl away from her grandmother at a Safeway store in Littleton. According to police, Wilson approached the girl and grandmother in the store’s produce section and “put his hands on [the girl’s] shoulders.” He then reportedly asked the grandmother, “May I borrow your child?”

Wilson attempted to lead the girl out of the store with him, but the grandmother started yelling and the girl was able to break away and return to her grandmother, police said. Wilson then left the store.

But Wilson, according to police, was apparently determined. Wilson allegedly came back inside the store and “tried to take the girl again.” This time, store employees reportedly intervened and chased Wilson out of the store. He left again, this time getting into his vehicle and driving away.
