A man has been charged after an alleged robbery at a jewellery store in the Sydney CBD.
His face was covered with a yellow bandana and a helmet.
Footage obtained by 9News showed him grabbing trays of jewellery from the table during a short confrontation with the shopkeeper.
The mother of three tried to leave, but he wouldn’t let her pass.
All the while, shoppers went past without noticing the terror unfolding inside the store.
The man fled through a fire escape onto Pitt Street, where it’s believed his e-scooter was parked, allegedly taking more than $100,000 worth of jewellery with him.
9News understands the same man was also captured on CCTV inside the Woolworths and Big W next door, where he stole a pair of gloves before carrying out the robbery.
Police executed a search warrant yesterday morning at a unit on Kellick Street in Waterloo.
While they were there, the accused suspect arrived at the unit, then quickly ran out after realising the police were there.
Police said they found 42 pieces of jewellery, a glock pistol, and ID documents with different names.
The suspect returned to the unit at 3pm, and was arrested.
He was charged with robbery and breaching bail.
He was set to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today.
