Paris Hilton recently stirred up a wave of mixed reactions online after revealing her unconventional pizza grease removal trick in a TikTok video. In the clip, the media personality pressed a slice of pizza face-down onto the inner lid of a pizza box to absorb the extra oil, then took a bite with satisfaction.
While Hilton confidently said, “That’s my trick,” the internet was quick to weigh in. Some viewers were baffled, expressing concerns over the cleanliness of using the pizza box in such a manner.
Despite the criticism, Hilton addressed the viral moment during a June 7 interview with PEOPLE at the Tribeca Festival in New York City, where she was attending the premiere of her latest film, The Trainer. She clarified the context behind the now-famous video:
“It was a brand new pizza box, so it wasn’t from some random place,” she explained, reassuring fans that the box used had been set up specifically “for the photo shoot.”
Standing by her creative approach, the Cooking with Paris star added confidently, “It is a good hack,” while chatting about her film appearance alongside Julia Fox and Vito Schnabel.

The viral pizza moment came just as Hilton was promoting her acting role in The Trainer, a quirky comedy directed by Tony Kaye. The movie follows Jack Flex (played by Schnabel), an eccentric personal trainer navigating Los Angeles in a bid to sell his bizarre workout invention on TV.
Hilton revealed she signed on after being personally approached by Schnabel:
“I’ve been friends with Vito for many, many years. He called me and said, ‘Paris, you are the missing piece to this movie.’ So it took a little bit of working on my schedule, but we did it.”
The heiress has also been active in other ventures. Back in December 2024, she reunited with The Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie for a Sonic Drive-In campaign that coincided with their Peacock special Paris & Nicole: Encore. The duo introduced signature drinks, referencing their unforgettable 2003 Sonic episode where they were hilariously fired on their first shift.
“We ate a lot. We took a lot of lunch breaks,” Hilton recalled with a laugh, while Richie chimed in to praise the food.
In addition, Hilton is preparing to debut her new feature-length concert documentary Infinite Icon, set for global release in 2026. As reported by Variety, the project will explore her personal and musical evolution through five distinct chapters. The film will blend live performances, rare home footage, behind-the-scenes clips, and interviews to chronicle her journey from her 2006 debut album Paris to the creation of her 2024 album Infinite Icon.
From festival appearances and film roles to viral social moments, Hilton remains a multifaceted public figure. She recently headlined two Pride events and used her platform to support LGBTQIA+ causes, continuing to balance entertainment, entrepreneurship, and the occasional online controversy.
