A Pennsylvania man is dead after his roommate allegedly shot him following an argument about their living situation.

Christopher Euard, 52, is behind bars after police said he allegedly fired a fatal shot at his roommate, Timothy Pirraglia, whose age was not provided. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the local Courier Express news website, police responded to a call to a residence in the gated Treasure Lake community in DuBois, located in the central part of the state, in the early morning hours of June 7.

The call was placed by Euard, who allegedly told police that he got into a fight with his roommate and killed him.

According to the affidavit, police arrived and were met by Euard outside the home, where they promptly took him into custody. Pirraglia was found dead of a single shotgun wound to the chest inside the home.

Euard reportedly told police that he and Pirraglia had been arguing about their living arrangement for several weeks leading up to their final altercation. The night before, Euard said that he had a verbal argument with Pirraglia when he came home from work. According to the affidavit, that confrontation became physical, with Pirraglia striking Euard with his fists and “push[ing] his head into a corner.”

The two men went into their separate rooms to “cool down.” Euard told police that 35 minutes after they parted ways, Pirraglia said he was leaving, having already packed a backpack of belongings. Euard then retrieved his AR-15-style rifle from his bedroom.
