An out-of-control car has been caught on video smashing into a family home in Sydney, almost killing a pet cat and causing thousands of dollars of damage.
Several people inside a home on Nottinghill Road in Berala heard a “very big bang” before a car came ploughing through the property about 5pm yesterday.
“We heard a loud sound and just saw a car crash into our front yard,” resident Cindy He said.
“Very big bang,” resident Peter Guo said.
The car narrowly missed their cat, Wah Wah, who leapt out of the way as the residents raced outside to assess the damage.
Exclusive video obtained by 9News showed the car on its side and wedged into the home.
Emergency services were called to the scene to free the driver, who had become trapped in the wreckage.
The mangled car was then towed from the home.
“We were very shocked. We didn’t expect for anything to happen like this,” He said.
The driver, a 41-year-old woman, was the only person in the car at the time and was taken to hospital.
She allegedly left a trail of destruction in the street after also smashing into multiple cars and homes, leaving homeowners with thousands of dollars worth of damage.
Despite the cost, the victims are just glad no one was badly injured.
“No big injury, nobody died. It’s lucky,” Guo said.
