Police are investigating the deadly shooting of a man overnight in the NSW Riverina region.
Emergency services were called today at 3am to Connorton Avenue in the south-western Wagga Wagga suburb of Ashmont over reports of a man being shot during a fight.
When police and paramedics arrived, they found the victim dead.
He has not been formally identified.
A crime scene was set up, which will be examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives have launched an investigation with help from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
