R-Truth’s shocking WWE return was bold stroke in otherwise safely played Money in the Bank

Did WWE work all of us or pivot after the backlash regarding R-Truth’s contract status?

That’s the question left after Truth came out of the crowd in a black hoodie to keep former childhood hero John Cena from cheating to win the main event of Money in the Bank at the Intuit Dome on Saturday night.

It came six days after Truth posted to X that he had been released from WWE and his contract was not going to be renewed. It brought a wave of touching tributes from his peers and chants of “We want Truth!” at each of WWE’s shows this past week.

Triple H, during the media scrum, called his return “all part of the show.”
