A blue Subaru Liberty collided with a pedestrian at the intersection of King Street and Batman Street in West Melbourne at 10pm on May 30.

The 30-year-old pedestrian from China was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say they think the driver of the Subaru hit the brakes before taking off from the scene, failing to stop and render assistance.

Investigators have released CCTV of the car they believe was involved in the crash.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
