Lauren Flanigan was due to front a Queensland court in July, charged with murdering her three-year-old daughter Sophie.
She is accused of stabbing her to death at their home in Moore Park Beach in Bundaberg earlier this week.
Flanigan was found unresponsive in her cell last night and has been transferred to hospital.
Queensland Corrective Services said officers responded to a “medical emergency” at the Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre.
“Officers responded before QAS (Queensland Ambulance Service) arrived on site and transported the individual to hospital,” a spokesperson said.
“Support is being offered to the responding officers and their colleagues.”
Her current condition is not known.
