An Ohio sheriff’s deputy lost his life after he responded to a domestic violence call and was allegedly shot by the man at the home.

Brian Michael Wilson, 53, was charged with aggravated murder after the violent confrontation on Monday that resulted in the shooting death of Morrow County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Sherrer, 31. According to court documents obtained by local NBC affiliate WLWT, Sherrer had responded to calls of a domestic disturbance at Wilson’s home on Memorial Day. The 4-year veteran of the sheriff’s department was allegedly greeted by gunfire upon his arrival.

Sherrer’s body camera reportedly captured the alleged confrontation with Wilson that led up to his final moments. According to WLWT’s reporting, Sherrer approached Wilson’s home where the suspect was seated on his front porch, allegedly armed and warning the deputy, “Don’t come up here,” and “Don’t f—ing come around that corner, I will f—ing kill you.”

When Sherrer disregarded the warning, Wilson continued to spew vulgarities and threats at him, saying, “I’m not f—ing playing, you better just f—ing go if you want your family to see you tomorrow,” and “Get the f— out of here now.”
