An Indiana man allegedly desperate to eliminate his estranged wife first tried to run her over with his car — and then allegedly tried to gun her down a day later.

Carlton Gray, 46, is behind bars in the Marion County Jail after being charged with the attempted murder of his wife, from whom he has been separated since March. According to court records obtained by local Fox affiliate WXIN, Gray tried to run the woman down with his vehicle outside the Goodwill store in Indianapolis where she worked. She reportedly told police that Gray had harassed her multiple times at work and allegedly told her on several occasions, “I’m going to kill you.”

The interview with police took place after Gray allegedly broke into a residence where the woman was the following day and fired five shots, hitting the woman in the leg.
