Knicks’ season on the brink after dropping Game 4 heartbreaker to Pacers

The tallest task of the Knicks’ season just got a lot taller.

A 130-121 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals made it a 3-1 series lead for Indiana and put the Knicks squarely up against the wall and in need of three straight wins to keep their season alive.

Jalen Brunson’s 31 points led the way for the Knicks in the losing effort, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Josh Hart, out of the starting lineup for a second straight game as the Knicks look to find a winning combination against the high-octane Pacers, added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

It’s back to the drawing board for the Knicks, who need to find a way to effectively quell Tyrese Haliburton (32 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds) and his supporting cast of Indiana players.

Whatever the solution may be, the Knicks are running out of chances to figure it out.

The next comes on Thursday in front of a home crowd at the Garden — and they’ll need to win it to get another shot — and keep any hope of an NBA title going.
