JUSTIN Bieber’s shock appearance at SZA’s SoFi Stadium show sparked deep concern among those closely involved in the production, two sources have told The U.S. Sun.
The troubled pop superstar joined the rapper on stage during her and Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National tour last week.
SHOCK PERFORMANCE
Dressed in an all-black outfit, Bieber, 31, sent the crowd into a frenzy as he performed a rendition of their hit collaboration Snooze.
Bieber and his wife, Hailey, who, as revealed by The U.S. Sun, are battling to save their marriage, happily posted about the performance on social media afterward.
However, sources close to SZA and Kendrick, as well as a staffer working on the sold-out show in Los Angeles, have described the singer as appearing “disconnected,” “erratic,” and “not fully himself” throughout the night.
A crew member involved in the concert’s production said Bieber looked like “a ghost walking around,” noting that he often spoke to himself and made comments that “didn’t make much sense.”
The insider claimed the singer was drinking and smoking before going on stage.
“The kisses at the end felt forced—like he was doing it to grab attention,” he said. “Backstage, a lot of us were surprised. It felt like the wrong moment for that kind of display, especially with everything going on in his life. Honestly, when he left, we all looked at each other like—this guy needs help.”
The U.S. Sun has reported extensively on Bieber’s erratic behavior, which has worried close friends, with one urging him to seek help for the sake of his family.
Fans are also fearful for his future, with one taking to social media to urge him to “get the help he needs.”
A source close to SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s teams said the atmosphere shifted the moment Bieber arrived.
“It wasn’t the Justin we know,” the source said. “He kept asking the same questions over and over, like if he had said hi already ten times. He just seemed out of it, like his mind wasn’t there.”
TROUBLING SCENES
Describing Bieber as a “dark-minded version” of himself, the source admitted there was immediate regret about the decision to bring him onstage.
He felt it was a mistake to involve the “unpredictable” Bieber.
“Everyone felt it,” the insider admitted.
Over the past year, Bieber has canceled large portions of his Justice World Tour, citing health issues, including his battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which temporarily paralyzed part of his face.
There have also been a slew of worrying social media posts showing him smoking bongs and appearing heavily inebriated.
Pictures have portrayed an increasingly gaunt appearance.
While Bieber and his wife, with whom he shares their nine-month-old son, have maintained a united front publicly, sources close to the pair have revealed they are at breaking point.
Welcome Baby Bieber!

- The pair announced the birth on August 24, sharing their son’s name, Jack Blues Bieber, for the first time.
- Justin shared a photo of Hailey’s hand touching their newborn’s foot, which was wrapped in a blanket.
- Justin’s great-grandfather was Jack Arnold, and his father, Jeremy Bieber, has Jack as a middle name.
“I don’t know how long they will be together or if they’ll wait until things explode, but the situation is getting more unbearable week after week,” a source close to the couple told The U.S. Sun last week.
“Even when they’re together at home, they avoid being in the same room. And then they also travel a lot separately. They mostly do their own thing when they have time off. The situation is explosive.”
The U.S. Sun contacted Bieber’s management but has yet to hear back.
“Overall, his presence was just off,” added the member of the production staff.
“He gave off a really weird vibe, and his erratic behavior and appearance had everyone concerned.
“When he left, we all looked at each other and said, ‘This guy needs help. He’s going down a deep hole if he doesn’t get support—whether from his family or professionals.’ ”
