A Texas mom is spending her Mother’s Day behind bars after being found guilty of inappropriate conduct with her son’s 13-year-old friend.

Jurors convicted 46-year-old Natalie Sorrells on two charges of indecency with child sexual conduct, while they acquitted her of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to court records. A judge sentenced Sorrells to serve two-and-a-half year sentences on each charge, meaning she’ll spend a total of five years in prison, per records. The alleged incidents happened back in 2023 in Rockwall County, which is in the Dallas region.

According to a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by local Fox affiliate KDFW, cops started investigating when the victim’s mother saw deleted texts between him and Sorrells in which she reportedly called him “babe.” Weeks later the boy told his mom that Sorrells had molested him.

Police took the boy in for a forensic interview at the Rockwall Children’s Advocacy Center. He told investigators about several instances where she inappropriately touched him. Specifically, the victim described two times when they had sexual contact: Once in a car after she picked him up from a football game and the other at her son’s birthday party, the affidavit reportedly said.

The victim also reportedly told investigators that Sorrells’ husband called during one of the encounters asking if she was cheating on him. The victim also alleged Sorrells often bought tobacco and alcohol for him and his friends.

Cops arrested Sorrells in February 2024. She served six days in jail before posting bond. Her attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
