Police are searching for three motorists seen near the home of Kim Duncan (pictured) around the time she was fatally shot in Ambarvale, southwest Sydney

A bizarre meet-up between the occupants of two vehicles was captured on CCTV around the time a grandmother was fatally gunned down inside her new home.

Homicide detectives have released new footage depicting a white SUV and a blue sedan parked behind one another in a cul-de-sac in Sydney’s south-west on the night of April 14 as their quest for answers continues.

That same night, 65-year-old Kim Duncan was killed in a drive-by shooting at her home on Dickens Road in Ambarvale at about 11pm.

Four weeks on, no arrests or charges have yet been laid over her death.

New footage released by police on Sunday showed two men exiting the SUV and walking across to the male driver of the sedan.

The men then had a brief conversation before the two cars drove off.

The exchange unfolded near Ms Duncan’s home around the time of the shooting, police said.

Emergency services were called to the home shortly after three gunmen shot a flurry of bullets at her house.

Police arrested Ms Duncan’s son, 34-year-old James Shaine Dowd in Ambavale two days later.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station on unrelated matters.

Officers also arrested another male, aged 32.

Both men assisted police with their inquiries and were released without charge.

Daily Mail Australia does not suggest either of the men were involved in the shooting.

Police have released descriptions of the three men alongside the CCTV footage.
