‘Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives’ Stars Demi Engemann And Whitney Leavitt Respond To Drama With ‘Vanderpump Villa’s Marciano Brunette: “I Think Some People Just Want Some Clout Right Now”

A new bombshell has been dropped in the villa — the Vanderpump Villa, that is.

Ahead of the Season 2 premiere of Lisa Vanderpump‘s latest reality venture on Hulu, drama between one of the show’s most prominent cast members, Marciano Brunette, and Secrets Lives of Mormon Wives star Demi Engemann bubbled over on social media with conflicting accounts over what happened during filming in Italy.

It all started when Hulu released the trailer for Vanderpump Villa, which shows several of the Mormon moms from the hit series visiting the Italian castle for a girls’ trip. In the short teaser, Demi and Marciano seemingly hit it off quickly, getting cozy and having multiple one-on-one chats throughout her stay.

“Are you allowed to make moves on the guests,” Demi asks Marciano in the trailer as the video pans to him in a confessional, saying, “With Demi, there was just instant connection.”

Cut back to the present, where Marciano posted that he was “uninvited” from an event because a “Mormon wife’s scared” he would tell her husband “the truth.” The Vanderpump Villa star did not name names but the speculation among fans is that he’s referring to Demi.

Talking with DECIDER at the Hulu “Get Real” event last week, Demi and her Mormon Wives cast mate Whitney Leavitt shut down any claims of impropriety and said that the whole situation stems from nothing more than someone trying to ride coat tails to the top.

“I think some people just want some clout right now, I think that’s what’s going on,” Whitney, who was not present on the trip, said. “That’s the real tea.”

“Thank you,” Demi responded. “You took the words right out of my mouth. We’ve got a series of clout chasing happening. Don’t believe everything you see and also tune in because there were some fun moments in Italy.”

It is important to note that while Whitney was not in Italy for the filming of the series, other Mormon Wives cast members — including Layla Taylor, Jessi Ngatikaura, and Jen Affleck — were. To make matters even more complicated, after Marciano shared his controversial reel to Instagram earlier this week, Layla commented on his post, writing “OOOP👀.”

As for what really happened between Demi and Marciano, we’ll have to wait until we have both sides of the story when both Hulu reality shows have debuted on the platform.

Vanderpump Villa Season 2 is currently streaming on Hulu. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives returns for its second season on Hulu May 15.
