Two British tourists have been fined after brawling with Thai locals in a rowdy road rage clash

Two British tourists have been fined after brawling with Thai locals in a rowdy road rage clash.

The two holiday-goers had reportedly been drinking beer in the depraved ‘Sin City’ Pattaya yesterday afternoon when they clipped a food delivery driver.

The troublesome duo then allegedly hurled a bag of rubbish at the wheels of the 44-year-old’s bike, sparking a road rage fight in front of the 7-Eleven store.

The Brits squared off against the Thai rider as a woman tried to intervene as blows began to be exchanged.

Other locals joined the fray, forcing the tourists to retreat into the supermarket.

Police were then seen to arrive as terrified staff fled the store with one of the British men screaming for his phone.

He was later seen pleading for police to ‘take him’ as he pointed to one of the Thai men.

Police detained the parties involved at the Pattaya City Police Station and the Brits have since paid the driver £335 in compensation.

A police spokesman said: ‘The police were able to control the situation in time before taking the two foreigners and those involved to Pattaya City Police Station to proceed with legal action.

‘The foreigners admitted their guilt in the fight and paid the rider 15,000 baht in compensation before going their separate ways.’

The brawl comes only weeks after more shocking footage showed yet another drunken fight in the debauched city of Pattaya.

A swaggering tourist had allegedly been causing trouble on the notorious strip of sex bars during Thai New Year’s celebrations when the foreigner reportedly harassed a female staff member and at one point poured beer over a bouncer’s head.

According to local media, he was removed from one bar, but instead of walking away, he took off his shirt and beckoned over a security guard.

The cocky tourist, who appeared to be speaking English, gathered a crowd and hyped up onlookers as he challenged the man to a fight – unaware that his opponent was skilled in Thai boxing.

Initially helf back by locals, the guard eventually knocks the man off his feet with one swing before kicking him on the ground.

Then other guards and several women, seemingly workers at the bar, also descended on the man, beating him as he tried to get back up.

The chaotic brawl was eventually broken up, and the humiliated holidaymaker reportedly had to walk back to his hotel.

Authorities will be keen to avoid any more unwanted attention for the former fishing village, which is struggling to shake off its lawless reputation.

Tourists are regularly attacked or caught up in crime, leading Pattaya to be dubbed ‘Sin City’.

Embarrassed officials in the central government have launched tourism initiatives to attract families and re-brand Pattaya as a safe destination.

Authorities have introduced safety measures, such as improved lighting and CCTV. Music festivals targeting young locals have also been staged on the beach.

A tram system and cruise ship terminal have also been proposed, along with schemes to lure in ‘high value’ visitors.

The coastal town first became popular with American troops on ‘rest and relaxation’ breaks in the 1950s and 1960s when the US had military bases in Thailand while fighting Communism in Vietnam and Cambodia.
