It’s not every day you face a bright yellow clamp on your car.
A teen from Tasmania has had his steering wheel clamped for 28 days after he allegedly evaded the police on April 12.
Police claim the 17-year-old from Port Huon had failed to stop his Ford Falcon for a routine check by police on patrol as part of “ongoing road safety operations”.
The boy allegedly evaded the police check along Arve Road near the Tahune Airwalk at around 2.15pm, Geeveston police say.
The vehicle was located and clamped for 28 days under Tasmania’s vehicle seizure laws soon after the alleged evasion.
The boy will be facing court and proceeded against on the basis of traffic-related offences, police say.
