A social media influencer has spoken out about the mysterious death of her partner, South Australian businessman Al McKenna, in Morocco.

Majda Mjoual, 27, gave an interview to UK tabloid The Sun where she recounted the night McKenna died in Casablanca.

“He was sick, the guy was actually pretty not healthy, at the end his health was deteriorating quite a lot,” she said.

However, McKenna’s family is furious that Mjoual went to the media instead of talking to them.

“Speaking to a journalist and not me as his father… it’s disgusting,” father Allan Moorhead said, adding that he was hearing many of the details raised by Mjoual for the first time.

He also revealed that he has not received a death certificate for his son and is struggling to come to terms with his loss.

One of McKenna’s business partners claims to have requested documentation about his death from Mjoual but has not received anything.

Mjoual says Moroccan authorities are yet to reveal the cause of McKenna’s death.

She also added that she’s unable to claim McKenna’s estate because she cannot find a signed copy of his will and their Islamic marriage has not been officially recognised.
