Police were approached by a man with a gunshot wound on Collins Street at around 6.30am today, a Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed.
The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A crime scene has been established at Collins Street as police probe the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown.
An investigation is ongoing.
