Confronting body cam footage has emerged of the shocking moment a man hurled a scooter at police and assaulted two officers during his dramatic arrest.
Andrew Kevin Gollan, 24, was being pursued by police in relation to an earlier assault when the drama unfolded in front of horrified beachgoers at Adelaide’s Christies Beach on January 23 2024.
The confronting footage released by the court on Wednesday showed a male officer being dragged into the ocean during the altercation with Gollan.
Screams were heard as another officer ran into the water while Gollan wrestled with one of their colleagues.
‘I didn’t do nothing,’ Gollan was heard yelling.
He then punched a female officer in the face with his fist before running back to the shore.
Police officer Kyle Hurcombe was then struck hit in the face after firing a Taser at Gollan, which missed.
Gollan then hurled a scooter at him, which bounced off the sand.

Officers were eventually able to restrain Gollan after police back-up arrived.
‘Put your hands behind your back now,’ Officer Hurcombe ordered.
Gollan was heard screaming: ‘Let me go, let me go please. I’ve got PTSD, please.’
The dramatic scenes unfolded after Gollan earlier smashed a car window with his scooter outside a nearby hotel.
The court heard Gollan then hit the male 63-year-old driver in the head with the scooter as he got out of the vehicle.
The man suffering a fractured skull, ligament damage to his knees, lacerations and bruising.
Gollan appeared in the District Court last week, after previously pleading guilty to two counts of assaulting a worker and one count each of resisting police officer and in doing so cause harm, aggravated causing harm with intent and damaging a building or motor vehicle, the Advertiser reported.

Officer Hurcombe revealed in his victim impact statement that he needed several surgeries to treat his broken nose and the damage was so extensive that his own children thought he looked ‘scary’.
He will likely to need further surgery, the court heard.
The female officer who was punched in the face wasn’t injured.
The recent court hearing was abruptly cut short after Gollan unleashed a foul-mouth tirade from the dock.
‘I can’t listen to this s*** … start the s***, start the s*** then act scared at the end, them f***ing dogs man,’ Gollan.
‘Start the conflict and then when they get f***ed up they start to b***h.’
Gollan remains behind bars and will be sentenced next month.
