Police were called to a home in Salisbury after the pilot reported visibility issues from the torch.

When police arrived at the home, they caught a man allegedly in the act of shining the light towards a plane from the home’s front yard.

Police searched the property and found a powerful torch and a taser.

He was arrested and charged with interfering with an aircraft and possessing a dangerous article.

He was granted bail, and will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on May 16.
