JD Vance to headline his first RNC fundraiser in NYC Monday

Vice President JD Vance will swing through the Big Apple Monday evening to headline a fundraiser for the Republican National Committee, two sources familiar with the trip confirmed to The Post.

That will mark Vance’s first major fundraiser for the RNC as vice president and comes weeks after he became the GOP party apparatus’ finance chairman.

Couples seeking to be on the “host committee” for the fundraiser were asked to dish out $250,000, per an invite to the event first scooped by Axios. The next tier down sold for $100,000.

Throughout his political career, Vance, 40, has managed to court a cadre of wealthy donors such as PayPal founder Peter Thiel and investor David Sacks.

His new role as finance chairman of the RNC could help him deepen his rolodex of top donors if he decides to seek the presidency in 2028.

“If he puts the RNC fundraising machine into overdrive and the party overperforms in 2026, he’ll solidify himself as the next GOP torchbearer. That is, if he stays in the good graces of you know who,” one source close to the White House previously told The Post.

Vance is the first sitting vice president to serve as finance chairman of the RNC.

President Trump still remains the GOP’s most prominent financial juggernaut, enticing donors who have paid up to $1 million in order to dine with him.

Republicans are hoping to build up a financial war chest ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, which have been historically brutal for the party in power.

Earlier this month, the Democratic National Committee announced its supposed strongest grassroots fundraising haul on record, raking in $9 million.

Campaign arms for the House and Senate have also touted competitive hauls.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee claimed to have pulled in $11.1 million, compared with the National Republican Campaign Committee’s announced $9.2 million haul this month.

On the Senate side, the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee claims to have accrued $7.8 million, while the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee nabbed $6.8 million, per campaign finance disclosures.

Republicans generally underperformed Democrats on the fundraising circuit during the 2024 cycle, with the DNC and Harris campaign routinely besting the RNC and Trump campaign.
