Brewers closer fumes over Yankees’ new ‘bowling pin’ bats: ‘Never seen anything like it’

The Brewers were on the wrong end of the Yankees and their new torpedo bats on Saturday — and the reviews from the opposing side were mixed.

“I think it’s terrible,’’ Milwaukee right-hander Trevor Megill told The Post of the bats that had the barrel in a non-traditional spot. “We’ll see what the data says. I’ve never seen anything like it before. I feel like it’s something used in slo-pitch softball. It’s genius: Put the mass all in one spot. It might be bush [league]. It might not be. But it’s the Yankees, so they’ll let it slide.”

But Megill’s teammate, Rhys Hoskins, had a predictably different reaction once he got his first closeup view of the bats used by several Yankees on Saturday, including Anthony Volpe and Jazz Chisholm Jr.

“I didn’t see it until after the game,’’ Hoskins said. “They figured out a way to make it work. Logically, it makes a lot of sense, but I’m not a physicist. But how could I not want to look into it more?”
