A man riding an e-bike has died after colliding with a police car in Sydney’s south.

It is understood officers were trying to stop the rider on Allen Street in Waterloo at about 3am on Friday when the police car collided with the bike.

The man, who is aged in his 40s, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene about 4am.

An investigation has since been launched into the death and parts of Allen Street remain closed while detectives work the area.
