Two officers were injured in an intersection collision that saw a Honda hit a $500,000 supercar

Two police officers were injured in a crash after a Honda Civic slammed into their vehicle before colliding with an expensive luxury sports car.

The multi-vehicle crash caused traffic chaos at the intersection of Gerler Rd and Nudgee Rd in Hendra in north-east Brisbane on Tuesday morning.

Police allege the male driver and sole occupant of a Honda Civic, 17, from Bracken Ridge allegedly failed to give way at the intersection.

He was issued a traffic infringement notice.

A senior constable and constable were treated at the scene and taken to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital for assessment.

A photo of the crash scene shared to the Luxury Car Spotting Australia Facebook page showed police speaking to a young male in a fast food uniform next to a heavily dented Honda Civic.

Other officers were seen examining the patrol car which had extensive damage to the front passenger side.

A relaxed looking man was seen beside the McLaren inspecting the damage, which appeared to be minor.

Luxury car enthusiasts were dismayed to see the McLaren caught up in the pile-up.

‘The McLaren accident looks more expensive than the cop car,’ one viewer wrote.

‘That’s a lot of paperwork,’ another wrote.

A third joked: ‘This problem is above my tax bracket.

‘Insurance [would be] like “You hit what?”,’ another added.

Another suggested the McLaren appeared to be a 720s, 750, or 765 model.

McLarens range from $500,000 to $610,000 in price.
