Police have arrested two more people over the alleged murder of a 16-year-old boy who was fatally shot by a suspect described as being dressed as a delivery driver.

Lathaniel Burrell was killed in Stockwell, southwest London, on Tuesday March 4.

The Met has now arrested a 17-year-old boy from Peckham and a 30-year-old man from Lambeth, after the alleged getaway driver appeared in court.

They remain in police custody.

Emergency services were alerted shortly after 3pm on March 4 after schoolboy Lathaniel was shot in the chest by a lone gunman.

Paramedics rushed to the scene but despite their efforts he collapsed on grass and died at the scene in Paradise Road, Stockwell, south London.

His family is being supported by specialist officers.

The Met previously arrested a 17-year-old boy, who has been charged with murder and appeared at Bromley Youth Court on March 12.

Omar Prempeh, 32, also charged with murder, is accused of driving the gunman from the scene in the moments after the attack. He appeared in court at the Old Bailey on March 12.

Earlier this month, the force said they were still seeking the alleged gunman and revealed the suspect had been dressed as a Just Eat delivery driver in a bright orange jacket while riding a moped.

At Prempeh’s hearing, the court was told the gunman was riding a stolen Honda moped, before getting into a Nissan Juke and being driven from the scene.

Relatives of Lathaniel, who sat in court during the hearing, have described him as as a Manchester United fan who enjoyed playing Playstation 5, and a friend of the family said he was ‘very bright at school’.
