Florida Woman Drowns Mini Schnauzer in Airport Bathroom After Dog Couldn’t Board Flight

On Tuesday, police arrested a Florida woman for killing her dog at an airport last year.

Unidentified sources told WFTV that Alison Lawrence, 57, drowned her dog in a bathroom at Orlando International Airport and threw it in the trash. She allegedly killed her small dog after it could not board a December 16 flight because she failed to fill out the proper paperwork.

According to WKMG, an airport employee discovered Lawrence’s dead dog in a women’s public restroom which is located before security checkpoints.

WESH reported that Lawrence was flying from Orlando to Colombia. The airport employee allegedly told police that she saw Lawrence sitting on the floor in the bathroom stall, cleaning up water and dog food.

Cops said Lawrence’s name and contact information were on a dog tag recovered from the scene. Animal services used a chip to identify the dog — a 9-year-old miniature schnauzer — and located Lawrence.

According to WESH, surveillance footage reportedly showed Lawrence entering the airport with a white dog.

Residents said Lawrence would walk a dog in the neighborhood, but the pair had been missing for a while.

“About a week or two ago, he said, ‘I don’t know why we haven’t seen the lady with the little white dog lately.’ And then we hear this sad story,” a neighbor who witnessed Lawrence’s arrest told WKMG.

Lawrence was charged with aggravated animal cruelty. She posted a $5,000 bond hours after her arrest.
