‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ viewers are loving the friendship between Porsha Williams and Shamea Morton — a bright spot in an already dramatic season.
Shamea Morton delivers on the first few episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16. The former “guest” and “friend” on the show finally has her peach, and fans are loving it. So far, Morton has her bestie’s back as Porsha Williams faces a long season with her ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley. Morton even commented on the controversy when she visited Watch What Happens Live. Viewers loved her take on Drew Sidora, saying Morton handled it with humor and grace.
Dennis McKinley is back on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ thanks to Drew Sidora

The beginning of season 16 saw cast member Sidora working with McKinley as her “music partner” during the singer’s divorce from Ralph, the father of her three kids. As Sidora poured her energy into studio sessions with the businessman, Williams’ ex-fiancé weaseled his way back onto the show. During episode 2 of RHOA season 16, Porsha broke the fourth wall and confronted McKinley in a hot mic moment, asking for an explanation from the hot dog entrepreneur.

Porsha Williams’ hot mic moment broke Shamea Morton’s heart
Williams’ best friend and castmate, Morton, appeared on Watch What Happens Live last night, giving her take on episode 2. WWHL host Andy Cohen asked for her reaction to Williams’ hot mic convo with McKinley. Morton quickly answered, “It broke my heart. I don’t like to see Porsha sad. And Dennis is her family now. They share a child together. And it is messy of him to ‘muddy the waters’ and work with one of her castmates.”

Cohen pushed further, asking about McKinley’s rationale for filming with Drew. “Did Dennis decide to go into business with Drew as a means of getting back on camera?” he asked. “Or to get back at Porsha for her marriage to Simon?”
“I don’t know what the motive is, but it’s nasty work,” Morton explained. “Like, stop. There are so many people that Drew can work with, so it’s nasty on both sides. Drew should’ve reached out to the many other producers in Atlanta — Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox — I mean, c’mon.”

Morton pulled back the curtain on how Williams felt entering season 16, saying that Porsha “empathized with Drew a lot” at first. Williams wasn’t “really mad” at Sidora for producing music with McKinley, she asserted. “It wasn’t until later where [Porsha] felt like, ‘Okay, Drew is doing the most with the whole Go Naked hair … Like, that’s off limits because now you’re trying to mess up where I eat.’”
Cohen had one more question for Morton on Watch What Happens Live. He asked for her reaction to seeing Drew’s confessional in episode 2 when Drew said that if you look up the definition of a lapdog, you’ll see a photo of Morton, implying that Morton is Williams’ lapdog.

Shamea paused before giving a hilarious response. “Well, I mean, I saw [RHOA castmate Kelli Ferrell]’s lapdog, and I was like, ‘Cha Cha is living the good life,’” she laughed. “So, if I could be that kind of lapdog…” Morton put her hands together like paws and made high-pitched barking noises, causing Cohen and the other WWHL guest, Married to Medicine‘s Toya Bush-Harris, to burst out laughing.
