Florida Man Charged With Murder After Causing Fatal Crash with Car He Thought Was Ex-Girlfriend

A Florida man has been charged with first degree murder after he forced a car he was chasing into a crash that killed the vehicle’s passenger.

Kyle Hill thought he was chasing a car carrying his ex-girlfriend when he “aggressively” chased and harassed the vehicle for several blocks Sunday night, eventually forcing the car off the road and into a concrete pole “that fell and crushed the car.”

Arislenni Blanco-Medina was killed and the the driver of the car, her boyfriend Norbelis Figueredo-Campos, was seriously injured.

Hill also lost control of his car and crashed into a tree in the median. His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

St Petersburg Police said the incident began just before 8 p.m. Sunday when Hill and his ex-girlfriend argued, and she left in a friend’s vehicle. Hill hopped into his Nissan SUV and went to find her. He spotted a Honda he thought was the car she was in, called her, and threatened her, then began pursuing the Honda.

The Honda, however, carried Blanco-Medina and Figueredo-Campos, recent Cuban immigrants, who were on their way to Walmart.

Hill was initially charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide, but the charges were upgraded to first degree murder and attempted first degree murder on Wednesday.
