Two Australian Defence Force (ADF) trucks have collided on a regional road injuring dozens of soldiers and leaving two trapped inside the wrecked vehicles.
Emergency services responded to an ADF truck having been rolled over on Tregeagle Road in Tregeagle, 9km south west of Lismore in NSW, at 5.05pm on Saturday.
Paramedics are currently treating 36 injured soldiers.
Eight of those are seriously injured while 26 only received minor injuries but the two soldiers still stuck in the overturned vehicle have yet to be evaluated.
NSW Ambulance sent out 18 vehicles in response to the call for help.
A steady stream defence personnel has been passing in and out of the area and of ambulances have begun transporting minorly injured soldiers to Lismore Hospital.
Those seriously injured however, are waiting on medical helicopters which will transport them to Gold Coast Hospital.
The soldiers were in the area assisting locals who had been impacted by heavy rainfall and floods caused by Cyclone Alfred in recent days.

Multiple emergency services are still at the scene, including officers from Richmond Police District and specialist rescue units.
The circumstances behind the incident are still unclear but officers confirmed only one of the ADF vehicles rolled as a result of the crash.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Tregeagle Road is currently closed, and members of the public are urged to avoid the area.
