Brit Award winning girl group cancels UK tour after devastating injury, saying ‘it breaks our hearts’

BRIT Award winners Flo have been left devastated after having to cancel their UK tour.

The R&B girl group were due to head out on tour across the country and onto Europe but have been forced to postpone the dates after one of the band suffered a horror injury.

Flo had been heading out on the road to support their debut album, Access All Areas, which stormed the UK charts last year.

However, the three members – Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma, and Renée Downer – have now confirmed that the tour is on hold.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, the In My Bag hitmakers said: “It absolutely breaks our hearts that we are going to have to reschedule our UK and European tour.

“Towards the end of our rehearsals, Renee damaged ligaments in her knee, and whilst alongside our team we have tried our best to find a solution, we just aren’t able to give you the show we want at this time and a tour that you deserve.”

The band, who have hits including Check, Not My Job and Fly Girl, continued: “We are so sad and sorry that we won’t be seeing you over the next few weeks but we are working on rescheduling these shows ASAP, so please hold onto your tickets as these will be valid for the new date.”

They then added a positive update surrounding Renee’s injury, revealing: “Renee will be recovered in time for the US dates, so they will go ahead as planned.

“UK and Europe, we love you and absolutely can’t wait to see you all very soon.”

The band had been scheduled to play in Birmingham, London, Manchester and Glasgow but these shows are now all on hold.

It was lined up to begin tomorrow with the first date in Hamburg, Germany before moving onto the Netherlands and France before landing in the UK.

Their 27 shows across North America in April and May remain unaffected.

Reacting to the news, the band’s supporters, known as ‘flolifers’, shared their messages with one saying: “Wishing Renee a speedy recovery!!”

Another added: “Oh no!! I hope she gets better soon.”

Whilst someone else said: “Take care and get better soon Renee!”

But someone else was left worrying if they could receive a refund for the tickets, writing: “Is there going to be a refund option in case we can’t go to the new dates?????”

Flo first rose to prominence with their hit single, Cardboard Box, before they win the Rising Star gong at the 2023 Brit Awards.

Their debut album, released last November, charted at number three on the charts and bagged the group a Brit nomination this year for Best R&B Act.
