The Prince and Princess of Wales’ friends are reportedly getting a kick out of the Duchess of Sussex lifestyle brand new name.
It’s an interesting time for Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle series is about to debut on Netflix and the full launch of her lifestyle products are set to be released as well. This comes after she had to delay her show amid the California wildfires and faced trademark issues with her brand name and eventually needed to change it.
There’s pressure on her now for each venture to be a success but some people don’t think there’s any chance of that and have given her “As Ever” brand another two-word name.
Those people happen to be friends with Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton). Here’s what they’re calling the duchess’s brand now. Plus, why the royals actually want Meghan to have success.
The nickname Prince William and Kate’s friends have given Meghan’s brand
In an Instagram post on Feb. 18, the Suits alum announced that she was changing the name of her business from “American Riviera Orchard” to “As Ever.” The change sparked backlash since the name “As Ever” is already being used by a clothing store in New York City as well as a photography business in Arizona. But while social media users called Meghan out for “ripping off” the name, Prince William and Kate’s friends were having a good time making fun of it.

According to Bella Magazine, the new name had the Waleses’ pals sharing laughs on a messaging app.
Express noted that some of their friends shared that instead of “As Ever” they started calling Meghan’s business “As If,” as in “’As If’ it will take off.”
One friend of Waleses shared: “It’s caused quite a bit of laughter within the group. WhatsApp messages have been going back and forth. It’s all very budget and rushed. Embarrassing, really.”
That insider did not reveal if William and Kate were part of that WhatsApp group or if it’s just made up of their pals.
How the Palace feels about Meghan’s upcoming show

All signs indicate that With Love, Meghan will have nothing to do with the royal family and it’s believed that they won’t even be mentioned. That’s welcome news for Prince Harry’s relatives because in the past the royals always had to brace for the unexpected never knowing what and how much dirty laundry the Sussexes were going to air out in interviews and the duke’s memoir. But now, the family is not dreading the duchess’s show and actually hope it does well.
Daily Mail columnist Richard Eden revealed that he was told that the rest of the royals want Meghan’s show will be a success saying: “Everyone wants it to be a success. And that’s because, if it is, she and Harry won’t need to exploit their royal connections again. The last thing anyone wants is another Spare, this time from Meghan.”
With Love, Meghan will mark the fifth program attached to the Sussexes’ for Netflix. Live to Lead, Heart of Invictus, and POLO have all flopped. Only Harry & Meghan, which chronicled the couple’s lives as royals and their exit, was a hit for the streaming platform.
