Authorities believe Gene Hackman’s wife, Betsy Arakawa, may have been dead for some time before police found her body on Wednesday.
According to a search warrant, obtained by TMZ, the 63-year-old’s body was in a state of decomposition.
The Santa Fe detective who examined the scene said there was “bloating in her face and mummification in her hands and feet.”
