NYC gunman shoots two, barricades himself inside apartment in standoff with NYPD

A gunman blasted two people outside a Bronx housing project and then barricaded himself inside an apartment — and was engaging cops in a tense standoff late Saturday night.

A man and a woman were each shot outside NYCHA’s Edenwald Houses just after 6:15 p.m. Friday — with their alleged assailant now locking himself in an apartment in the building.

Both victims were shot in the leg, with the man being taken by medics to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, according to the NYPD.

Both NYPD Hostage Units and Technical Assistance Response Units are on the scene.

The situation is still developing.
