Tony Dalton is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing his ‘Hawkeye’ character to ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’
According to a new report, Hawkeye actor Tony Dalton will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jack Duquesne in Daredevil: Born Again. Dalton is expected to appear in two episodes of the highly-anticipated series streaming on Disney+ next month.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ cast adds Tony Dalton
Tony Dalton made his MCU debut in the 2021 series Hawkeye. Known to comic book fans as the Swordsman, Jack Duquesne got a slightly different origin story in the Disney+ show.
Duquesne was engaged to Eleanor Bishop (Vera Farmiga), mother of the new Hawkeye Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). While initially teased as the villain, the Swordsman ultimately proved to be Kate’s ally and it was in fact Eleanor working with the Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin (Daredevil‘s Vincent D’Onofrio).
Variety confirmed longstanding rumors that Dalton would return in Daredevil: Born Again. Given the appearance of D’Onofrio in the Hawkeye finale, it wasn’t a stretch to imagine more characters crossing over as the Charlie Cox-led series moved from Netflix to Disney+.
Since Hawkeye, Dalton appeared as Lalo Salamanca in Better Call Saul and played Diego in the Spanish-language film Dime lo que quieres (de verdad).
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ cast
Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. While the original Netflix series only hinted at Cox’s involvement in the larger MCU, more recent projects such as Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk have confirmed his character’s involvement.
Vincent D’Onofrio is back as Wilson Fisk, better known as the criminal mastermind Kingpin. D’Onofrio previously appeared in Hawkeye and Echo. Ayelet Zurer is also set to return as Fisk’s wife, Vanessa.
Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Karen Page while Elden Henson will portray Franklin “Foggy” Nelson. The pair play a central role in keeping Matt Murdock grounded as his law partners.
Jon Bernthal gets another shot as Frank Castle/Punisher. The vigilante hero was introduced in the Netflix version before getting his own series.
Margarita Levieva plays Heather Glenn, Matt’s love interest. Michael Gandolfini portrays Fisk’s protege Daniel Blade. Wilson Bethel debuts as Benjamin Poindexter, better known as the villain Bullseye.
Daredevil: Born Again premieres on March 4.
