Spit on Sidewalk Leads to Arrest in 36-Year-Old Cold Case Murder of Massachusetts Woman

A Georgia man was caught on video surveillance fatally stabbing his fiancée’s dog during a heated argument, according to police.

On Tuesday evening, Joshua Allen, 42, and his fiancée began to argue over the phone as she made her way home to Sandy Springs, Georgia, according to Fox 5. The woman accessed her video surveillance system while en route and witnessed the shocking incident.

“She saw on her phone through the video surveillance system him picking up the dog by the neck, strangling the dog, and then holding the dog down on the porch and stabbing it to death,” said Sgt. Leon Millholland.

Allen was also seen attempting to clean the gruesome scene with bleach.

In the video, while trying to dispose of the evidence, he was heard speaking to someone on the phone, saying, “If she calls the cops, he’s gonna hit her in the head with his hatchet,” according to Sgt. Millholland.

The woman contacted the police, and when officers arrived at the home, Allen attempted to flee. Sgt. Millholland noted, “When Mr. Allen attempted to leave, Sandy Springs Police officers boxed him in and took him into custody.”

Police later discovered the dog’s lifeless body in a trash bag in Allen’s car.

“It’s very disturbing, it’s gruesome, and it’s unacceptable,” said Sgt. Millholland.

The defendant was on probation at the time of the incident and has a history of violence, according to WSBTV.

Allen is currently being held in jail without bond and is facing felony charges of animal cruelty, making terroristic threats, and tampering with evidence.
